Yoga
straps are designed to deepen your stretches. A yoga strap is a long
belt with a clasp at one end. The clasp allows you to form a loop
at the end of the belt.
When using yoga straps you grasped one end with your hands and put
the loop around the body part you want to pull on. For example, to
stretch your hamstrings you place the loop around your outstretched
foot and pull back on the other end of the strap. Be careful not to
pull so hard that you feel pain. You only want a deeper stretch.
Yoga straps can be purchased by themselves or as part of a yoga kit.
The kit often includes straps, a block, and a mat. Yoga instructors
can also purchase yoga straps in bulk at a discount.
