With
all the talk about going “green,” it only makes sense
that that a green yoga mat should be something that many who practice
yoga would want to use. These mats are made of material that is not
harmful to the earth, but still are functional and usable for those
practicing yoga.
For those who are considering purchasing a green yoga mat in hopes
of improving their yoga sessions, here are some items to consider:
• Itchy? – Some people find that the texture of a green
yoga mat might make their skin itch. Those people who enjoy walking
barefoot in the grass will likely not have a problem, but there are
some who do not like how sensitive their feet are to the mats.
• Not as durable ? Because a true green yoga mat is made up
of all-natural materials, there is a possibility that it might wear
out more quickly than typical mats.
• Smell – Some people claim that a green yoga mat smells
something like a rubber band. Most rubber mats will also have some
kind of smell associated with them. It may be wise to compare smells
to see if any are objectionable.
• Stickiness – A green yoga mat is probably not as sticky
as most typical mats, but it is stickier than a normal cotton rug.
Many people find it is sticky enough.
